Mission and values

Mission

The Monash Centre for Synchrotron Science supports synchrotron related research across the University, fosters relevant collaborative and cross-disciplinary research programs and enables researchers to engage effectively with the Australian Synchrotron and other overseas light sources where appropriate.

Values

In addition to Monash University's values, the Centre also aims to:

  • Push the limits of current research practice and methodologies
  • Encourage cross-disciplinary research that makes use of the platform technologies provided by the Australian Synchrotron and others
  • Undertake research in an ethical and safe manner
  • Develop the next generation of researchers expert in the use of synchrotrons
  • Promote synchrotron science and the value of synchrotrons to the broader community
